In Ghana

We are safe & sound in Ghana. It is very HOT here!! We got off the plane and were greeted by the 80+ degrees and humidity, a big change from London, where it felt colder than Philadelphia (sorry Paul, enjoy your 5 weeks there). We arrived around 10 pm last night & got settled into our dorms. There is courtyard in the center & we have views of wild animals out our window! The amenities aren't the nicest ever (Res Life friends, think RAT camp), but everyone is so nice & we are having a good time so far.

This morning we ate breakfast in the university cafe & had fried eggs, baked beans, bread, & some sort of meat that was described as pieces of hot dogs. (I didn't try the meat so I don't know how else to explain it!) After breakfast we went on a tour of the campus & it is huge! They have the biggest library in all of West Africa, which I have to see before we leave, considering my love for Hugh Morris at UD. : ) Today we are starting our first day of class, and then tomorrow we're headed to the Ghana Federation of the Disabled.

As for the internet here, the internet cafe in our dormitory isn't working because this is technically their break, so we're some of the only people around campus. Right now we're using the main campus computer lab, but I don't know how much more I'll be able to get on while we're in Ghana. Also, we're having cell phone troubles here, but I'll try to contact people more when we arrive in Dubai!

What kind of wild animals? Dogs? Or lions?

It makes a difference.
